Commander Jack Gerrard

Jack Gerrard, the youngest of three children born and raised by Owen and Hattie Gerrard of Clarksburg, West Virginia. In 1964, upon graduation he joined the United States Air Force. He served from 1964-1967 in Massachusetts and NHA TRANG, VIET NAM 1967-1968.

After, his discharge from the service; he started work in the transportation industry and worked for 35 years, retiring from Overnite Transportation, with 25 years of service. He is a 30 year member, Paid Up For Life Member of The American Legion, and a Paid Up For Life Member of the V.F.W. As a member of Bridgeport Post 68 he has served in many different offices, presently serving as 1st Vice Commander. On the District level, he has served as District and Vice-Commander for five terms, serving presently as District Service Officer.

On Department level, he has served as Assistant Membership Chairman, Sgt. –At-Arms, and Vice-Commander. He has served on the Civic Affairs and is presently serving as Deputy Representative VAVS at the Clarksburg V.A. Medical Center, also, Children and Youth Chairman. On the National level, he is serving on the Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Committee.

Jack is married to the former Pauline Biddle and they reside in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
